Ok, so I have an idea. I’m young, and still want some freedom without worrying completely about my tank. I was thinking maybe I will buy a bit of a larger fish, and just a couple small fish, like some clowns and an anemone. Then, a bigger tang (so he would have almost the whole tank to himself.) then a bunch of coral. Thoughts?

Or maybe buy a camera, I just don’t want my tank to crash if I’m not home for a couple days at a time

All a question of want and budget.
A tang is usually around 100G plus, which makes the system a bit more stable. 100g however is not easy to transport any longer.
Sofies are easier, but with the right budget comes the ApexTrident and remote control.
Anyhow...what size tank are you interested in? LPS or SPS? Any budget constraint, future moves?

I have a 90 gallon and a 15 gallon biocube. I’m 16, and am getting my license so over the summer if I go somewhere I will drive back and forth lol. I am not messing with SPS, especially since I have other pets, friends, and school so I don’t wanna neglect them. 100% soft coral and lps only, so maybe I will get my fish stock list and those corals above. Honestly, I’m just worried about me spending all this money and my tank crashing because I’m not home for a few days. People have told me to skip it, especially it being so big, but I am responsible so I trust myself lol. What about a camera, and my parents helping out when I’m not home? Do you have any examples of what I can use to assure nothing will happen if I’m gone for a few days on vacation with friends? I want a apex system, but they are very expensive. Any other ideas to monitor when I’m not home? A camera? Sorry that was long as heck lol

You need to get your parents into reefing. Also video calls are great on catching up with family and if they are good with the reef.
Yeah, I just worry that they wouldn’t actually do what I ask them to do if I’m not home lol

Video call if necessary security camera setup that transmits over the internet to see your tank.
I am a parent, too. Parents are easy to be manipulated. We like to be proud of our kids, we like to be supportive and we take any reason why they would call/ videocall.

Lol, thank you for helping me relax
