Im thiking of using 10000k mh with actinics. Any body do this and have any pointers on what to use or maybe pics. I was thinking of Ushios with ati purple plus or will staying with 14000k be about the same as changing to this set up?

What wattage?
Sorry, 175 watts with a Hamilton Probe start ballast on a 75 gallon tank. I actually have a 10000k Ushio on one side now that a friend let me use. Its really bright but a little too yellow for me. I have a cheap Plus rite 14000k on the other side and I like the color but i'm gonna get new bulbs shortly and just weighing my options.

I used the same setup on my 120 before I got into LEDs. I always liked the Iwasaki 15K bulbs. Gave me a nice 14k look with the output of a 10K bulb. Sorry I don't have any pics though.

I currently run Phoenix 14ks and love them. I also used to run Reeflux 12ks, which give out a great color. I"ve never been big into super blue tanks, so the Reeflux was perfect. I was iffy about the 14ks, but I really like them....enough to where I just replaced them with new ones this month :)

I was dead set on th Phoenix bulbs but I dont think they will work with my ballast. How long did the Reeflux last for you? I havent heard much on the Iwaskis but i'll research those too, will they work with a probe start ballast?

Yep, Iwasaki 15k will work on a probe start ballast. I used them on the same ballast you have.
