hey everyone!

i decided to go with dry rock from BRS "marco rock" for the main reason of keeping my water as clean and safe as possible... and also for the reason that i want to create a really nice aquascape from scratch rather than piling rocks on top of one another. any good methods out there to create a 3D scape that utilizes negative space or make a cool cliff kind of scape ? this tank is going into my living room so i want it to be simple and custom ! i saw some kool techniques i am curious to hear what you guys tried ! thanks !

I'm a huge fan of the 3D NSA scapes! Break the macro into small chunks and use thick super glue gel to build it the way you want it to look. Its challenging, exciting and frustrating....all in the single project! When you have it all together the way you want it, go back and add more SG and small rocks to support the glue points. Some folks use a combo of liquid SG and sand to cover the gel joints, but it's really not necessary. The coralline will cover it eventually either way.

will i also need the epoxy? or since the structure wont be too big i wont need it ? I also need to make a cave/space specifically for the show piece of my tank later on which i will not reveal yet lol so my idea is having that cave but the rest will be all negative space scaping... i want a simple structure with an open water look not too crowded

As long as you reinforce the joints with extra SG and rubble, you don't need epoxy. You could always do it for extra piece of mind, but it's not necessary.

Can't wait to see the show piece!

for the negative space scape and a little cave ... you think 20 lbs or marco rock with a medium size foundation piece for the base is enough ?
