hello fellow reefers. I need your opinions/assistance once again. I’m in the process of buying 2 more 55 gallon water storage drums. What I want to do is place 2 sort of float switches or whatever some of your suggestions are. One at the bottom of drum. One at the top. This will be for my auto water change. When the low switch is hit/triggered it would have my rodi drum transfer water into saltwater drum until it hits top float switch and turns off. This is how I have it set up now.
What I’m looking for/suggestions are which float switches or whatever recommendations to use. I wanna drill holes in the bottom and top and place whatever switch there. I don’t wanna get the wires/components wet this time so keeping as many things outside the drum as I can. I would also need a way as to the holes don’t leak. I’m thinking maybe how/when I set up rodi with there float switch. Just doesn’t seem efficient enough.
Ready and willing to listen to your suggestions. Trying to capitalize since it’s almost Black Friday

I got these bad boys link and drilled them in with a 5/8 hole saw bit. Test them before you install them to see if they work. I have not had any issue with the one I have purchased but if you get a dud, at this price not big deal.

Get the grease butt connectors and tape the connections.

I use mine with my Apex for my auto water change and in my sump to shut down pumps and heats when the water level gets low. The rest is all programming and with the Apex one will need a break out bar. I have three in place now and will add more soon.

Grease butt connectors? What’s that? And I assume when you say tape the connectors your talking about the wire from float switch to wire that goes to breakout box?

Hey buddy. I’m getting ready to go to Home Depot. Did you mean a 5/8 hole saw bit or a 5/8 drill bit? Just making sure before I make the hole too big
