Hi everyone. I will be building a new stand for my 93 cube here in a couple weeks. I have built stands before but I would like to make this one extra nice and get some ideas from other stands you all have made or seen. If there is anyone out there that would like to share their pics and builds please share. Thanks for the ideas and designs in advance.

That one is a hard one. I would troll some of the Tank build threads and come up with a list of Ideas. Then I would come back to this thread and ask how to incorporate the things that you see, post some pictures. Then the next step would be to have the measurements of your tank, the tools that you have to build with. Then we can help you with a design and depending on the time I might CAD something for you;) so that you can see if the concepts work before you build.

Im making mine out of metal so I have more room. Im also topping it withe one piece of granite with a ledge to set stuff on....I plan on sheeting it in plywood and holding the plywood on with magnets

Thanks for the replies. Ok so the tank is 30x30. I know how I want to skin it I just don't know the exact correct way for the frame. This is what I have now and after reading posts it makes me nervous. The stand is wider than the tank so it doesn't sit on the actual frame, but instead in the middle. Now the horizontal boards running underneath it have no vertical support. They screw straight into the frame. Is this bad? I have had it for 3 years or so.

Well I have the stand bigger than the tank now but I worry all the weight is on the screws. I need someone with someone good with engineering to give me their opinion. I have had this stand for 3 years but it's now making me nervous after reading stuff online

This is a top down view. The dotted line is my tank. The filled in lines are the top frame of the stand that the tank sits on. Underneath the filled in lines are vertical studs running to the bottom. However, the tank doesn't sit directly above those, it sits above the "empty" lines that tack straight into the " filled in" lines. Does that mean all the weight is on the screws ?

Any expert stand builders or engineer's that can confirm if this is something I need to fix asap
