93 rimless stand question

im picking up a 93 marinland rimless from a fellow reefer, it has been running for 3 years, going to build my own stand, im a finish carpenter, and stock stands just dont cut it for me. im wondering on the best way to do the top of the stand, does the entire bottom of the tank rest on the stand, or is the glass inset like a rimmed tank where only the perimeter like a rimmed tank, or does the entire top have to be solid with plywood, etc.?, thank ahead

I would build the top of the stand with a plywood or similar material then put a neoprene pad underneath tank to remove any imperfections in the stand.

Granite would work great. Plywood would also be fine. It shouldn't warp, get 3/4.

In general, rimless need full support on the whole bottom panel. Rim needs support just on the outside.

I would also put something like a yoga mat under the tank to relieve any pressure points.

Neoprene is what you want.

He is the rimless stand before the tank on my 750xxl red sea set up.

Neoprene is cover all of the top of the stand in 3 pieces.

There are rimless tanks that do have a bottom plastic rim, in that case only the perimeter needs to be supported. A flat bottom tank will need some sort of padding to relief any pressure points the stand may have; a neoprene pad is good, styrofoam and rubber mats are good options. Will be up to you to have a full top or just the rim but personally I would place a full top.
