I thought I had posted this but don't see it so if I post twice I apologize. What type of controller to you all get? We are getting a pump that is dc and need something to plug it into so I'm assuming we need a converter? Is there something that is better to get than not? I'm at a loss and can't seem to find anything on the net about it.

Most DC pumps come with the converter and controller . Which DC pump are you going to get ?
