ACAN not doing well

Just got a new Acan and I have always had tough time keeping these species.

Water Quality

Ca 440
Alk 8
Salinity 1.026
Mag is good
Nitrates and Phosphates are there, but low values

All other corals are doing great! I use a Reef Breeders Photon V2 for lights.

Reef Breeders V2 the fixture is 12-14 inches from the water line. My tank is only 12 inches deep. The placement of the Acan is in the middle it’s getting good light and low flow

Try placing him on the sand bed. They tend to like low light low flow

I don’t spot feed any of my corals, I just broadcast feed LRS, Reef Roids and Rods twice a week.

You probably will need to feed the acans - I have had a bunch over the years and have found that well fed acans are happy acans. Try the .5 mm pellets. They work well for me.

Dropper - wet the pellets down and feed a couple pellets each head. The gobble them right up but you may have to fend off the fish for a few moments.

Mine were looking the exact same way on the sand bed, same lights too! Just bought mine on Tuesday though.
But i was suggested to move them under a slightly shaded ledge, and to continue feeding.
Please excuse the cyano btw, still feeling the consequences of tap water from over 2 months ago...lol

Acans are resilient but will show signs of chemistry swings. When you broadcast feed are you getting a feeding response from the acans? IME they don't like really clean water. Do you have any shrimp in the tank? Make sure they are not getting blasted with light, low to medium indirect flow. For feeding I'd suggest mixing oyster feast with reef roids then while the pumps are off dust the acans with the mixture. It will suspend around the coral like a cloud. The small particles will be easier for the coral to grab. Once you start getting regular feeding responses you can target small pieces from LRS.

Yup, needs some food. Also in my experience any green algae growth on the frag will inhibit growth - so if that's what I'm looking at in the picture use a tooth brush and knock it off without damaging the acan.

Cut the top off a 20oz soda bottle and use it as a shield as you spot feed. Works especially well when feeding meaty foods.
