Ok I made a mistake purchasing a frag from someone else and I didn't deep the new frags because I know this person for a long time so guess what I have the flatworms can you guys help me how can I get rid off them.

There is a lot off sps colony's in crusted on live rock so I have to treat the entire system.
I be weighting for responses thank you.

Just to clarify are these actual AEFW or another flatworm type?

if it really is the AEFW their is no in tank treatment other that turkey basting or maxijet blasting and wrasses

There is a thread recently about an in-tank treatment for AEFW's. It looks be be quite involved. But if your tank is loaded with encrusted acro, and you can't remove them to treat, it might be worth a shot. However, if this happens to be your only acro frag, I'd either toss it or take it out for treatment.

There is apparently a new method as mentioned that seems to work so far. It will cause a mini cycle to occur, but it appears to be able to get rid of them. It involves raising your potassium level to 4 times normal using KCL. Search the SPS forum for "in tank AEFW treatment" and you should find it.

Take all the acros off the rocks and dip them all once a week for at least 6 weeks while removing all eggs each time. They are extremely evil and it seems they will hide where they know you aren't looking. There is a lot of info online about this method, just read up on it and do it right the first time. One wrong move and the cycle starts again.

Everyone check your acros for bite marks if your not aware what acropora eating flatworms are. Just because someone posts frags for sale doesn't mean they are taking the proper steps to ensure your frags are clean of pests. If you don't know what they are and you have acros and are collecting, stop collecting and research.

I have seen more aefw and red bug cases by buying coral from club members and visiting tanks at peoples houses than I have from buying wild corals from my favorite suppliers.
