Anything new and exciting that eats them? Any help will be appreciated.

Here ya go... Like any fish though, not guaranteed. Mine is still munching away but Luke had to pull his cause it ate some lps. There is a very good chance they will eat zoa's but I did not care in my tank. I have not seen mine touch any coral yet. I also tried the Berghia nudibranchs but had no success with those.

you can also try some peppermint shrimp. 3 of them took care of my problem. Some places have sold camel (or is it camel back?) shrimp as peppermint shrimp. They don't touch the aptasia. I think that the peppermint shrimp eating them isn't a guaranteed thing. You may have to buy a few of them to find one or two that will eat them.

I bought a peppermint shrimp several days ago and haven't seen him once yet. Not at night or during the day. Where did he go? :(

They are great hiders. They always hang upside down under rocks in my tank

Peppermints are great for aiptasia. Never had one yet that didn't decimate them. If its mojano anemones thats a different story though.

Please let us know the process Sara

So I used the lye method last night to treat 7 pesty aptasia that had been hit multiple times prior with kalk paste and continued to come back.

Let's just say that this lye mixture just melted the aptasia before my very eyes! You don't need much to do the job! I used the narrow syringe that comes with the Salifert test kits for the reagent ... it worked great!

Only product I have had work is a copper band and I have tried everything (except this lye method mentioned above)

if you don't have wrasses, have you ever tried Berghia Nudbranchs? all they live for and eat are Aiptasia and reproduce in your tank. I've used them before and works well. you can also re-sell them after.

Lights are on an everyone and everything is still alive, except for the aptasia of course! I'll continue to use this in moderation, but it looks to be quite an effective method of aptasia killer!

I've got some zoa frags with aptasia growing right along with them, so those will be my next test project to see how I can do without nuking the zoa's too. I'll save those for tomorrow night!

I have tried peps with no luck in the past, ive injected kalk with diabetic needles, ive even tried ripping them out, this was before i was being overun with them like i am now.

I have to be honest, tank maintenance is non existent, ive had one water change in the last half of year, I stopped running carbon and gfo and yea... Could water quality (filthy) be an issue? I have sps that have never looked better... In my defense i top off with kalk drip and i change the filter socks, params are in order.

No wrasses Just one single GSM clown, 30g breeder tank. How big are the fish that eat them, are bergia really worth the cost? Im to to point of hacking the coral off the rock and letting the rock sit in the sun for a week then powerwash it.

The file fish is 3" max size. I had well over 100+ in my tank that I could count and probably over 50 more that I couldn't see. There are 10 that I can see now and they are under my monti cap and in little holes. He picked them off of my clam and never bothered them. I have had him in my tank a total of 16 days and has has it 90% taken care of.

aipitasia X

I just used ap x and the problem was cured after one heavy treatment.
I kinda went on over kill and it did burn some of my clover up but that stuff repopulates so fast its no biggee

Hows the fish doing now after some time has passed? How about your corals, is he eating them too still, if so what kind?
