Algae Reactor Gone Bad

I put together a small Algae Reactor setup for my nuvo 40 and ended up cracking the reactor.. Wanted to know if anyone else had that same issue?? or was it a fluke thing?

Cracking while in use because of the heat from the LEDS?

If so, then yes. It's not exactly common but it happens more than people would like.

That would be my guess. The crack was right in line with a series of the leds.

Different manufacturers used different grades and thickness of the plastic on them. A lot of the less expensive thin ones broke. Esp if there were a lot of leds in the string, or the more is better was used and there were a lot of Wraps around it.

On the next build you can slip a spacer in so the Led doesn’t touch the reactor.

You can literally use something like a couple pencils or ball point pens or whatever you have laying around.
