So I was under the impression that tanks uptake calcium and alkalinity in even levels. I’m using BRS 2 part pharma jugs. So I calculated that my tank uptakes about 25ml alk per day. So I set my alk and cal dosing pumps to dose 25ml/day. I spread that out to 5, 5ml doses making sure to put at least an hour between alk and cal.
But after almost a month of testing every other day, at the same time of day, I’ve found that my calc has risen from 440-450 (possibly within margin of error) but my alk has dropped from 9.7 to 9.3
Is the problem that my dosing pumps aren’t working properly? I calibrated and tested them both and it seemed to be Accurate. Should I just dose slightly more Alk per day do get my number closer to my goal (9.5)?
