So its safe to say
i shouldn’t go too crazy over ph readings? Thx for the advice.

The best response, IMO, is don't go after pH in inappropriate ways, like adding buffer. lol

just an update, did 10% water change, did not use buffer. Tested ALK, was 9.7.
last week 11.5. Before it was about 15. So stopping Marine buffer is bring
ALK to normal levels. Thx for great advice.
