Alternate pH probe?

Hi all,

It appears that adafruit doesn't stock pH probes anymore. I saw what looks to be similar here https://www.dfrobot.com/product-2069.html, but I'm concerned that it says "Probe Life: 7*24hours >0.5 years". Does anyone have experience with this brand/model?

I don't use reef-pi, as I decided it didn't quite fit my needs.

not sure this will work for you, but this is what I use with my custom pi logger.

you can use brs, apex, american marine or atlas scientific probes. all should work, as long as it has bnc connector and rated for marine /submersible usage

For Apex we talking about PH Probes? Or Conductivity? Conductivity I recommend Conductivity Probe K 1.0 Atlas Scientific. Far as PH probes all accurate in my opinion. The Neptune ones are horrible though on all! Never got accurate readings with there probes.

Op asked specifically about pH probe. I agree i have not found anything that indicates accuracy difference, since all of them relies on same technique underneath. BRS double junction is better from durability perspective.

Honestly, the APEX circuit is extremely bare bones/cost reduced and subject to all sorts of drift. Nearly every one of the measuring circuits people have built for the Reef-Pi, including the Atlas, are better in some marked way.

The probes are the usual major factor in terms of long term stability outside of ambient temperature issues with the apex. The BRS dual junctions are a good pick.
