So my Anemone is slowly shrinking and sometimes his tentacles are shriveled, I haven't really been feeding him directly so wondering if that could be the reason. He has been in the same spot for 5 months. He closes up sometimes and has some black goo come out, I figured he was pooping. I thought if he was unhappy he would find a new place. I tested my water today and my Nitrates were 46, Phosphate 0.5, but what surprised me was my Ammonia was at 1.0. I have 2 clowns and a blennie only, nothing has died that I know of. Could the anemone be causing the ammonia spike if he is dying? I did a 2 gallon water change right away, I do a 2 gallon water change every week. I can see the anemone's foot and it still looks attached. I don't want him to die and pollute my tank. Any help would be appreciated.
