Anemone ID

I just got a Mag anemone a couple of months ago. Below is the reference I used for anything I wanted to know. To keep it from walking around, I had to put it on a smooth pedestal rock with lots of flow. My clownfish are now egg laying fools. There are eggs under it every week. Keep us updated on your progress.

Will do! So far she has stayed in one spot and getting more comfortable. Shes smack dab in the middle of my tank planted to a rock

I would leave it alone for now and not move it or flip rocks for awhile. If it is a mag, it will climb and as said they prefer flat areas to attach, high random flow, high light, etc. Usually people will make a pedestal-like formation to isolate the mag, if it can feel rocks next to it it will try to go higher. Also, make sure your powerheads and overflow are covered.

I think it needs more time to settle in. @OrionN I'm not really sure on the ID.

She found a nice rock in the middle of my tank and I am slowly adjusting the flow. Where I bought her there was hardly any flow and she had only been at the store a week. Initially, she was high and got lower and lower. I put her high up and she apparently does not like it, at least for now. I am waiting a few weeks to get some clowns. I want to make sure she is well adjusted. Check and Check! Already covered with foam.

That’s a great looking anemone. The white tips have the look of Magnifica. Here is a pic of mine. What color is the foot??? If you paid RBT price for this you got a great deal.

Thanks that is my Bright Rose tip anemone, in fact it just split again today this thing has given me more store credit than anything. My LFS loves taking these on trade in. I have 2 other Rose tips and a CO Sunburst but none are as bright as this guy it’s just like the picture fire red and green. Here is a closeup of it before it moved and split last night.

Nice find ,, let it settle and find its happy place . I’d give a small feed about a week in . I feed mine a tiny piece of raw uncooked shrimp every two weeks really just as a supplement . If lighting is good feeding is not essential in my experience .

Good luck

Yall are making me jealous lol!!! I love the pics though. Update on my "nem" She is behind the rock work and seems to like it there. There arent any signs of her downhill or anything. Ill get a pic of her.

LOL. Typical anemone, finding a home behind the rock work. Last place you wanted her probably. Hope you can see her well when she expands.

YES! That is indeed the last place. I can surely see her well when she expands. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR lol My black snowflake clowns dont see her

They should in theory. If it is an H. magnificent, it is a natural host for them. A BTA, for example, is not even though it will still sometimes provide a host to Ocellaris and Percula.

IKR! Typical... just when you want them on the best rock in the middle of nothing and in a prime viewing spot ... they take to hide n seek ... probably just acclimating and getting a feel for the new surroundings and in particular the lighting . Should put in an appearance over the next few days .... patience is key ...
