So I have had this anemone since june 26. It has been open eating shrimp. Came home today and its mouth is open and is partially closed.

Water salinity 1.026
kH 10
Calcium 460
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Phosphate 0

Tank is fairly new. Has cycled since phitos I have do a 10% water change. Should I try to feed it?

How old is the tank? It's mouth is gaping open, its a bad sign it's not doing well!! I recommend giving it to a friend w a older more mature tank till urs is abt 150 days old

Ur not having coralline growth that's weird I have a 5 gal 2+ moths old and this is how it looks currently there is a bit of reg algae but that's because I'm away and someone else is taking care of it

All the green on the Rock is green coralline but is turning to purple! Also abt the valantini puffer he's just there temporary he's going to a much larger tank when I get back

The white on the rock that u see used to be the bottom but I changed the aquascape and the bottom hasn't grown to much coralline yet

My system didnt even go through a diatom bloom till late. I was running ultra pure water from my place of work. Prob wasnt the best decision. Was going with a bare bottom and then decided to add the sand bottom. Once the sand was added and i started to use my own RO water did my tank then start the diatom bloom. My water was to pure as it is used in steam turbines and has hardly any impurities.

What corals do you have in your tank with that puffer. Would love to add a puffer to my system.

Sometimes a day after I feed my nem it will close up like yours did. However it will spit out a brown mucus which i assume is its waste.

However the color of your nem worries me. Its seems very dull, which leads me to believe it is stressed.

What kind of lights are on the tank? Looks like PC?

Also find it weird that it isnt moving around like it is unhappy with its placement. Foot is deep in the rocks and has been there almost a month. Why sudden decline. Test parameters daily only thing that really changes slightly is my calcium level and temp. Temp only swings by maybe .5 and is around 78°

Anemones are weird creatures and do weird things.in my experience as long as they are not decaying let them kick it

When they go through deflating cycles like that they usually end up splitting I have a BTA species tanks and that's what happens before they split they also deflate and gape moth to expel waste if you feed often then it's just deflating to expel waste
