I posted originally on an old thread, finally worked out how to start a new one, yay! Anyway, I bought three anemones which keep splitting and growing no more than 2- _20190329_160053.JPG _20190329_155852.JPG _20190329_155914.JPG 3 inches(only the green purple tipped ones are splitting) . One is green with purple tips, the other is light purple, the other is tan. They are all doing well, my water is fine, I just don't know what these are and how to get them to stop splitting. I have 5 new ones in 6 weeks!! I can't get them out of my tank without removing all the rock which is impossible. The clowns don't host them either. I have other anemones that are happy and don't move or split. I'm worried these little guys will end up taking over my tank. I originally spot fed them 2-3 times a week but since splitting, I've stopped to see if that was the issue.

Just a stab in the dark but look up Condy anemones. Your pictures are hard to see to truly say but from what you discribed it could be let’s as a few others #reefsquad

These tips are quite pointed unlike Condy's, also the purple goes down half the tenticle unlike the tip only on Cindy's. My local fishkeeper wasnt sure what they were either.

Right on I’ve been looking and those are the only thing close to your discription others will chime in sorry I couldn’t help more bta rfa and minis are all I keep.

Hey reefer they do look close I was reading about them and it says they have a nasty sting. So you know there is only one way to find out gotta man up and take one for science :D jk jk but they do look close. Also thanks for starting this topic I love to learn new stuff and will be doing some reading on their compatibility with other anemones cause I might try to find one.

I have rbtas, carpets, maxis, tube anemones.... They all seem happy together, apart from these ones splitting. I'm trying to confine these to another tank until I can find out more about them. Getting them out has been the tricky part.

Right you get them out let me know I’d pay shipping if you want to get rid of one if not no biggie just a thought

Oh right on no way would it survive
I know its been awhile, but thought I'd give you an update, those anemones are soooo tough. I moved about some rocks, removing a few and putting them into a bucket of saltwater, no heat, no light, they sat for over a week, I was going to sell the rocks. Upon closer inspection, I noticed one of those anemones still attached and happy. Now this was going on 2 weeks with no food, light, heat or flow!!! How on earth it survived is beyond me. Its now back in my tank just as happy as it was before. Point is.... I bet it would survive the travel across the Atlantic lol I couldbt ship it anyway due to mail regulations but don't think anything would kill these things off lol
