I only had access to a cheap microscope tonight but after two weeks of getting my nitrates and phosphates back above 0 and h2O2 dosing, I don’t seem to making much progress against these guys (have also been adding additional nitrifying bacteria to try and help).

these will form longer strands in my tank during the day, but I’ve significantly cut back i white light time and they seem to largely disappear during the night. The swimming motion in the video almost looks like they are sucking water in and out to move fairly rapidly. Any ideas on strain? 1FF668AC-B2E0-453A-9F74-7AEA1C31CC16.jpeg F2216C38-F382-4355-9CF8-A698B58ED2DC.png

Posted another video that came out a bit better with these guys swimming around... they have the sesame seed shape that has been described well but the swimming pattern seems a lot more all over the place and i have also observed my lawnmower blenny happily going after the large strings of these on the back walls and rockwork in my acquarium...

Apologies i didn't post water parameters last night, was trying to do this typing on my iPad which wasn't great.

Both phosphates and nitrates hit 0 and stayed there for multiple days in the 3rd month of this tank.

I have been dosing between 5 - 10mL of NeoNitrate for 7 days, Nitrates are now registering stable around 2 - 3 ppm (Saliford). Increased feedings as well as feeding live zooplankton and phytoplankton and phosphates in the Hanna ULR Phosphorus checker between 0.01 and 0.03. Ph at 8.2.

Thoughts appreciated, just want to make sure i'm on the right track.

Firstly welcome to R2R! Sorry you are experiencing this problem. Does it look like brown stringy snot on the rocks? It’s hard to tell from the picture and I’m not getting the video but my gut says ostreopsis. I had success treating with a large UV sterilizer. Getting your nutrients up will help long term in preventing their return but you usually need alternate methods of eliminating the current population to get ahead of the problem. Good luck!
