Anoxic sand bed layer

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with anoxic sand bed. I do regular water changes but I want to clean my sand bed for the first time. Some say it can leech harmful toxins into the water. I've spoke to a few people and they all have different views, to clean or not to clean and let nature do it's course. I would like to clean it but I'm afraid of negative results. Any thoughts? P.s. this my tank has been up and running for a little over 2 months.

I'd say two months is not that bad. How deep is the sand? Siphoning in sections is a good idea

1-2 inches in some spots

1-2 inches is not enough to create anoxic zones. Vacuum to your hearts content.
