Any advice?

I can send the watt hour formula if you wish, but I live in Mass and a 6 person hot tub outside is 30 a month to heat in winter...just to throw it out there...

Not worried about wattage and stuff my town has its own electric plant and our is way cheaper then everyone else's

All DC pumps use more electricity than AC pumps...nature of the beast.

Just to correct this, he said it backwards.
Ac is more costly to run.

I have the same setup you want. 50 gallon tub in the basement. Currently I run a gen-x pump but will be switching it out after Christmas for a sicce. The new pump is rated for 23ft head pressure...the same as my gen-x. I'm doing about 360 GPh to the display and run my refugium also. I added about $80/100 a month to run. The dc will save me some... Maybe $20 a month??

Basement sump room is awesome - given the choice I wouldn't do it any other way. Using a Blueline 70/panworld 200 myself to handle the head of one floor up without breaking a sweat. Siphon drains work better, and reatart more easily, with greater 'drop'.

Yep wallingford we are pretty lucky very few outages during big storms knock on wood and low rates I think my monthly bill is between 45-65 a month for my whole house
That's nuts!
I have only a new fridge and not so old hot water heater on (not staying there right now) and my monthly bill is $40+!

Yea my buddy lives in apartment in east hartford his electric bill is about 150 a month and I thought that was crazy.

And side note I run all led bulbs through out the house which dropped my bill 10-20 bucks, but I have electric hot water heater. But gas heat and stove.

I have Wallingford electricity, it's like $35 just for basic charges. All electric heat & appliances and my peak in Feb/Mar is in the high $300s.

dang really I also live along and am practically nocturnal so my house is usually dark and I currently don't have a aquarium running

I saw this basement setup on facebook I must say this would be nice.
Although many of you changed my mind on the basement setup haha
