I have a little float shut off valve on my RODI from BRS. It is inexpensive and well worth it.

:DYou brought back some funny memories. I forgot it on from midnight to 6am and walked out to go to work and saw the garage full of water. I will never forget that feeling
Needless to say, now i have a float.

Flooded the upstairs bathroom last week. Usually have the bottles filling in the tub so no problem, but our cat decided to bite lots of holes in the tubing and we desperately had to make water for topping off. Shorter line wouldn't reach from sink to tub.

Like everyone else here (sooner or later) I learned the hard way - multiple instances - that you DO NOT OPERATE AN RODI WITHOUT AN AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF.

I agree 100%....such an inexpensive safety measure :)

I used to own an apartment building, I lived on the top floor. On more than one occasion I forgot, flooded the kitchen and subsequently water found its way to the ceiling of the second floor kitchen. All I have to say is thank god for drop ceilings! Now in my new house I have a float switch and everything is in the basement!

Yeah. I'm figuring out all kinds of helpful items we are lacking lately. My husband likes doing things with minimal spending. I have to convince him to buy the simplest items sometimes. We are planning a much better summer set up in the garage this year. Float switch is on the list.
