I've been using Dr. Tims Wasteaway as a biological media successfully for about a year. Should I stop this before starting aqua forest products and if so how long should I run the tank without it to more or less purge the system? Appreciate the input.

I would like to try Aquaforest, I assumed I should start with the salt first. What should I do next after using your salt.

Pro Bio S and NP pro are the bacteria component of Aquaforest. It would be best stop Dr Tim's dosing before starting to use ProBio S. I haven't dosed any bacterial supplement on a regular basis. But you should be able to switch over without any issues. It is always best to slowly start the dosing of elements. Start with half the recommend dosage for a week to see the effect on your tank.

You don't have to start with the salt. You can start using Pro Bio S and No Pro then add the supplements.

@Aquaforest One small question: if using Reef salt + Vodka dosing - can Pro bio S and NP Pro used together with Vodka dosing?

Armetas- I don't think you should use vodka and here is why: from the Aquaforest Guide; vodka method - not recommended while using probiotic method.

But Reef Salt is not Priobiotic. And Pro BioS and NP-Pro should work like Prodibio Biodigest and Bioptim, correct me if I'm wrong.

But armetas aren't you making it probiotic by adding the Probiotics when you add the Pro Bio S and the NP -Pro?
Would like Aquaforest to answer this as well. I am not and do not use vodka or vinegar but am interested in the answer as well.

@buzzword But I believe Probiotic Reef Salt is much more then Pro Bio and NP Pro.
In this case I'm referring to Pro Bio S (not F) and NP Pro. It is also probiotic bacteria, but main question - if it can be used together with Vodka dosing (where Reef Salt is used)

I would think so as NP- Pro is a carbon source.

So why it is recommended to use:
Priobiotic Reef Salt + Pro Bios S + NP Pro + Pro Bio F

So it means you have already priobiotic Reef Salt and on top of it you are adding more.

Maybe we need to know more what it is inside Priobiotic Reef Salt - what makes it Priobiotic

For start You Can use: Pro Bio S with -NP Pro when it will enough Your nutrients there is no need to use another Products like Pro Bio F (probiotic bacteria and culture medium for them).
Re recommend to use also Our Probiotic Reef Salt - it contains another probiotic bacteria, culture medium for them, amino acids and vitamins.

Omg,aquaforest actually responded,i love the reefsalt,1,2,3 and probiotics, but you have terrible support this conversation has been going on for days and you respond now,need to step it up!!!!

But what about Vodka dosing if only Pro Bios S and NP Pro? Using ReefSalt as I don't want to go to fully priobiotic method.

We recommend to dose Pro Bio S and NP pro.
We are not using vodka and do not recommend that's why we are not responsible for using that.
