Hi, just set up my 1st reef tank. It's cycling now with some live rock that was out of water for about a week. I tried reef glue from Seachem but it wouldn't hold anything. Useless. Anyone got any recommendations? Is epoxy better? The structure is stable with about 20 lbs of rock in there stacked just over a foot high... but wouldn't like it to fall over when I introduce livestock.

Welcome to R2R.

I believe most will suggest the Marco-400 cement to make your scape.

Just keep one thing in mind. You don’t want everything attached to everything. In case you need to take out any rocks for cleaning or removing any nusiance algae etc.

So as long as you can find good plus for each rock as you build your scape. You should be good.

Welcome Aboard @Lynchcon
I would go with a reef cement, Marco Rock is very popular, Aqua-forest also has an affordable cement. Good Luck!

!!! Welcome to R2R !!! I personally didn't glue together any of my rock. I did put the rock, make my aquascape and make sure that doesn't move and then I add the sand. Been there for a whole year without any issue. Of course, when I add corals I do it carefully.

Thanks guys ... will try the reef cement and thanks for the heads up on not gluing everything together. I think I can make do with a few well positioned interventions..

One way you can look into is to take the rock out of the tank and shape it how you want. Then you can actually drill holes in the rock and slide acrylic rods in them. And place them on top of one another and the will hold together. That way you don’t have to worry about them falling over and can be removed if needed. I’m sure there is a ton of YouTube videos on it.
