Just wondering if anyone knew what these were? I know they are not RPE's as I have those and they do not have the white ring by the skirt and random speckles.

hope this doesn't come out and I'm talking down, just asking the question why you would think it's not a true RPE?

If you prefer, RPE with the blue circle around the mouth area are referred to as TRPE, but I agree with the others - its a RPE. The speckling, splotching is often caused by lighting.

True post above but a RPE don't have the blue ring where the skirt connects at least none of mine do.....Other then that though they look like typical RPE.

Thank you for the replies. I have TRPE's and they have never morphed with the blue ring or spackles. I'll try and get a better pic of this one to show the difference.

Here is a comparison shot of my TRPE's and the Spackled blue rim RPE's. I have two mini colonies of the SBRPE. One is growing in less light and one is in direct light both started with the blue rim and spackles and haven't changed.

I guess so. I like that name better. If this is true to be a new morph credit shall be given to delsol for the name. Thanks everybody. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it changes in any other way.

So it's a BRRPE... " BLUE RIM RED PEOPLE EATER "

LOL; nice job Charles!

How long have you had them in your tank? Any new polyps yet? Looks like on the original picture there are a couple polyps on the right that aren't showing the ring or at least not completely - although could be the angle of the shot as well.

No cred needed man, it's our job to help here.

It just reminds me of this... except yours is a RPE and the PPRPE is a PPE.

Nice comparison.

I have these polyps and some of the polyps are developing blue rings like your BRPE's

Post up some pictures Charles!

They are a RPE morph for sure. But, morphs are what makes one coral different from the other.
I have never seen them morph with a blue ring. If it has not happened already you should be getting a ton of PM's for frags...
They are awesome!

Just came across this thread in a search so thought I would post some pics of my BRRPE. Didn't find any others posts online except coralpedia.
