I got these zoanthids today and i'm wondering if these are True lunar eclipse, if you see some of them have yellow skirts and the others have red/orange ....i've seen some lunar eclipse that the skirts have black, orangeish color but these have just one color on the skirts.

Very close to ezs but the mouths too bright and the skirt should go red to black abruptly and in these you see red after the skirt so these are something unnamed!!!

There are a lot of lunar type morphs coming in right now. Undoubtedly there will be many variations. The yellow skirts are neat and more unusual. I've had several rocks come in with an order that were being called lunar eclipse, and each one was a little bit different in color/pattern. All very similar and definitely in the same group, but when you're dealing with wild palys there are going to be differences, if for no reason than that they were collected from different spots with slightly varying conditions (how the light hit one colony compared to another, how the flow was ,etc).

I'd give your new palys some time to adjust to your tank conditions and see what happens with them. They will very likely do some changing over the next few months.

If your speaking of mine those Ive had over a year and were luners then lol so there lunars now almost lost them then grew them back from one polyp, lighting can change them but these are the real deal heres a few frag shots from this colony.

actually my husband got me this colony today on a LFS and i love it, he asked the owner for how long had he had it and he said about a month but my husband told me that this colony was kinda hiding in the tank so it was hard to see it...
i'll put them with medium ligh and slow flow,so we'll see if they turn their colors, hope they dont :)...i specially love the yellow skirt on these zoanthids.

thanks for the input nanofins.

No, I was actually addressing the guy above and his pic. Judging from the pic he posted, which could be misleading, I'd say not lunars. I can see yours being a captive lunar morph. Here's a pic of one of my wild lunar rocks before and after:

Picked that cluster up with the same shipment as these

Those stayed pretty much the same, but the above ended up looking like this:

I would also note that higher light seems to encourage this morphing. Even true lunars tend to get more orange/red with higher light, whereas the black center becomes more dominant again when put in lower light.

Nice morph Nano!

I checked my records I have had these over 2 years and at the time the only morph out there being called lunars so I will stick with the name and they do look like last two pics at zoaID.
