I have a 40b with mostly SPS. I have a 4 bulb ATI fixture about 12" off the top of the water. I just ordered a 36" tech Reefbrite to add to my ATI fixture. My question is how do I go about acclimating my coral to the Reefbrite or is it fine to just add it to my T5 and run with it?

+1 Run them. The ReefBrite 36' should only be roughly 30w spread out over that 36in. They're more a type of accent lighting.

Thanks all I'm using them for the LED pop and maybe some shimmer.

The connections are a little tight but I hooked up a Current USA timer to my reefbrite's

Good thing you ordered the tech reefbrite because the xhos pack a punch. You really have to be careful with the xhos. The tech versions are more for pop and dusk/dawn effects.

I say run them, if everything is ok under current lighting and you see a negative change shorten photoperiod on the reefbrites and slowly add time each week.

Yeah almost got the XHO but my tank is only 18" deep so I went with the tech.

Do you think the XHO is too much for a 65g 36x18x24 with and ati 6 bulb fixture? I was looking at buying to 36" xho fixtures to add but now im not so sure
