Hey everyone,

I have four total chalices...an unnamed orange, twilight zone, mummy eye and a bleeding apple.

I recently purchased an AI Sol nano for the 12 gallon JbJ DT they're in. The readings right now are whites at 60 and blues at 70 at peak.

PAR with nano:

Top coral placement- ~400
Mid level- 200
Sand bed (chalices)- ~120 ish.

The light that was over the tank before the nano was an AquaUfo 90 watt led. It's par is roughly the same.

Top-220 ish
Bottom-120 ish.

So it looks like the par readings are roughly the same. I tested the par on the aqua after it was already moved to my 10 gallon frag tank so the depth is probably near the same as the 12 gallon (11 inches).

What kind of par should I be looking for?

Note: the corals are looking fine, but I noticed the chalices were looking a little bumpy today before I left for work. Could be since the lights just weren't at peak yet on the nano but better ask now than later.

Sorry for the long post!

Thank!!

Under LED's your PAR meter is likely underreporting the actual PAR being put out by the LED's because of the blue spectrum. Personally, I think 120 is high for chalices...

depends on the chalice. some I have right under my lights while others I have on the sand bed and a couple under partial shade.

Well that means I'm more than likely giving them more light than they need. And seeing as how they're acclimated to 120 par and I'm giving more than that they should be fine. The fixture before was also led.

I'm also not sure how the blue spectrum would have it unamused report par since blue is used for photosynthesis.

Could you explain?
