I was wondering if anyone had a picture of their bashsea twisted skimmer setup because I set mine up and I'm running it outside the sump and it seemed to give me some trouble. I have some pics below where there's a hole on top of the pipe which is returned to the sump, and I missed this hole before running it but found out about it when water started flowing out of it. From all the pics I've seen online, I haven't seen anyone put a tube out of this hole so I was wondering if something is wrong on my setup.

don'tr have one (they look interesting), but that hole is an intake breather for the injector and helps stop gurgling coming from the effluent. My guess is that if it's spitting water out, then the water flow is too high through the unit.

is the pump you're using in the recommended range for the skimmer?

The pump is rated for the skimmer, if anything it might even be a little under but I didn't try adjusting the valve yet, I'll try today when I get home and update

So the skimmer seems to just fill up with water without any bubbles, I assume because it doesn't have an air intake from that hole, which instead water is just coming out of it. I ended up adding a hose to the hole so that water doesn't go everywhere, and that hose just keeps filling up with water. I tried adjusting the valve and it just raises the water level in the skimmer.

This may not be helpful but have you called BashSea? I bet they could help you out

disconnect that black hose completely from the injector window. once it starts pulling air it wont push as much water. Sounds like there's a blockage some where. If it still spits water then my guess is a blockage and something may be assembled out of wack. You ARE running it with salt water to test, right? not meant to be sarcastic, just asking because I've seen many a post of skimmer issues when they were testing with fresh H2O.

Yes I'm running it with saltwater, im running it off my currently connected and running tank, I took apart that valve (forgot the name of it) and it was seated correctly with no blockage, the skimmer is clean and hasn't been used.

I'll disconnect the black hose and try it out and update
Thanks

So I removed the black hose and water began to come out from the side of the return stand pipe, so I'm kinda clueless on what else it could be

sorry, just saw that you have tried contacting them. When you turn on the pump and the water enters the injector from the top, does that window fill completely with water? there should be only an inch or less of water in that window.

I haven't found a number to contact them but have sent them emails yet no reply
Hes active on fake book or try calling Greg at Sting Ray Bay east point mi.

Just to update, I did get in contact with bashsea through Facebook, thanks a lot for the suggestion, very quick reply from him with a solution. Because the return pipe was modified by installing a ball valve, bashsea said that the height is very specific and the small pipe above the Tee will need to be raised 2-3 inches. I didn't get the chance to fix it yet, but when I do, I'll be sure to update. Thanks again to everyone that commented with any help/suggestions
