Battery Backup Recommendations.

Ok, so due to some issues in my old place, i had to move almost immediately.
Due to the rush of finding a half decent place, when i looked at the place im in now i didnt quite paid too much attention to the electrical "system" of this house. So making the long story short, the "system is not the best so im in the process of getting a sub panel installed dedicated for the salt water system, but thats gonna take sometime.
In the mean while, i want to get a Battery backup system installed for now. I normally work 15+hr shifts and sometimes i get mini panic attacks while im work thinking about if one of the breaker tripped of the power went out, its not fun at all smh lol.

Ive been looking at the Eco-tech battery back up system but ive heard mixed review of it.
So i have a few questions...

Is it a good system to spend the mony on?

Would i need any type of wifi/internet for hooking it up and/or for it to work?

How many battery is recommended to have for it to keep things running for at least a day or so?

What would be all the components i would need to have it up and ready to work if and when needed?

Is there other systems or ways that you guys can recommend for me to use?

I don't mind spending the money in a good system as long as its worth it.

There's a lot to know an unpack here. TLDR It would be advisable to know how much power you are drawing to understand what capacity you'll need to run over 24 hours, along with what specifically you want to monitor.

I would recommend to have something that is measuring your power draw and can be triggered to turn items off as power is expended. I would start with a large 1500VA office UPS system and maybe considering an Neptune Systems Apex A3 or similar to measure and control power as conditions arise.

For all options to function as expected, hard wire the Apex via cable to your home or business router/switch. This is for both redundancy against wireless radio issues and for IOTA control, if one later needs that feature. It doesn't work wireless that I have seen when both the Apex and the controlled item, such as a Sicce SDC pump are both wireless. Same with older AI Prime control over the network. You'll also want to plug that Apex into both the DC power on the UPS unit, even though the energy or outlet bar is also plugged in, so that one can detect and at least log a power outage (if you're internet is not also out).

From there, one can control each outlet to turn off the lights, heater, UV, etc. when on battery or after such event occurs, then sequence them out from that point.

Upgraded house with Generac and still have them online now and there are 2 plus years old, but have not used them since

Ok, yea definitely alot to unpack.
I will start with the USP system so i can get an idea of where am at with power consumption.

I was looking into that system but i was seeing alot of reviews of the batteries not lasting more than a yr.

mine were functional 14-16 months, and have not been tested since... might be worthwhile experience to test them now

but is so, the cost is steep for a years' worth of service - not sure what the best practice is for extending shelf life
 
You can safely drill out the rivets and replace them with an sla 12v 20ah battery if they go out.
Alternatively if you find an similar sized lfp battery with a built in bms then that works as well
 
Have you consider looking into getting a 24v UPS , remove old battery’s and connected 2 12v marine batterys externally in series (you can run your return pump /recirculating pump at normal speed with no problem)
It been working perfectly for me
 
I’d go with a heavy duty portable generator (s) over any aquarium battery backup especially since I know what your set up looks like and a small battery back would only power a few things for a short period time and is really built for emergency use.

I got the ecotech delta and the associated solar panel. Alone it can power my 20 gallon for 30ish hours and with the solar panel it should theoretically be able to power the aquarium indefinitely with 30ish watts to spare for cell phones etc

Please bare with me on understanding everything you are all telling me since im not too tech or electrical savy lol
I can put anything together as long as i can understand it .

Eco tech battery pack if you watch the bull reef supply test it ran 75 hours before giving out. Just need somthing to create o2 so nothing dies. Heat is another story.

Eco tech batter pack saved my tank 2 times so I think it’s worth the cost but you need an mp10 to run with it or mp40. Mp10 lasts longer though. 40$ to change the battery there is a video on YouTube. Rivets suck butt though and you need a drill I believe.

You could attach a timed power outlet to it then it would. And if you were looking for the ability to control it remotely you’d need wifi and an aquarium controller like an Apex.
 
First, I'd ask budget.
From first post you want (I think) hands off / auto power for <1 day of life support.

You mentioned EcoTech backup in your first post so is it safe to assume you're running EcoTech/Vortech powerhead(s)? If so, I think EcoTech backup makes sense, at least in terms of minimal effort.
