To be honest my aussie gold likes med-high light and flow. I have it placed at the top of my tank in line with my MP10 which is on the opposite side of the tank and it seems to be thriving.
I've found that the gold arms tend to turn more purple/brown under lower lighting. Just give it plenty of space or it will latch onto and sting almost anything within reach.
i have it in the top left corner, not direct light, but gets plenty. its also right below a Jabeo WP25 pulsing and its looks great there, flowing back and forth. I will keep an eye on it and I always report back here.
Had my Aussie for around 3 years always kept it at low light with barely any flow had a couple moments of stress when I moved it to a higher spot on the tank and higher flow really stressed it out
