No freeze dried, frozen, raw, liquid, etc.....JUST FLAKE

i typically feed seaweed and frozen but was wondering what the BEST FLAKE FOOD out there was for omnivores.

everyone has an opinion....READY.....GO!

HBH lists spirulina as the first ingredient. I use their pellets (my fish go nuts for them)... might want to try their flakes? I also like zoo med spirulina 20 flakes... my fish noticeably prefer them to other flakes, and they are thicker than most, so don't turn into dust as easily.

Fortunately almost all the big name makers (e.g. Wardley, Hikari, Tetra, HBH, Ocean Nutrition, Omega One, OSI, New Life, just to name a few) are putting out quality flake products, so to the extent possible I would suggest that you buy based on the "features" you need the food to have (ingredients, quality packaging for long term freshness, locale of production, etc) and maybe even decide based on what's available locally to you.

If you just wanted a recommendation for one I would probably give you New Life Spectrum Optimum flakes. Consider their pellets too. Their Thera-A line is a good general diet as well, including a large dose of garlic with the regular formula.

The best way is to feed a variety of flakes (pellets, freeze dried, etc..). That way if one is lacking something the others will probably make up for it. There's no way to know if any of these products are "quality flakes" or "the best"...

Can I ask why you are asking for just flakes, and not pellets? I really prefer pellets, unless for special circumstances...

I was asking for no particular reason. Flake or pellet.
I've always used flakes so it was out of curiosity mostly. Perhaps I should look into pellets.
