So I just got my brand spanking new Biocube 29 and it is my first tank. My question is about the lighting. There are 2 strips of white fluorescent lights, 2 strips of blue fluorescent lights, and 3 blue LEDs. Should all of the 3 types of lights be on at the same time? I have a book about aquariums but it only talks about different types of lights and not really how they are used. I wanted to put them on timers. How long should each type be on per day? should on the blue lights be no at night and the white ones during the day? please help!

Most people have the actinics on first, then the whites next.

Whites of first then actinics off.

When all lights are off. Leds on.

The best decision i made with my biocube lighting was to take the hood off, toss it in the trash and get a metal halide fixture

Agreed remove the lid and get a decent fixture, it looks way nicer. And your corals will like it a lot better.
