I have a 10 gallon reef with a current USA orbit marine light and I want to get a birds nest I am just wondering if it is good enough light to keep it happy
Thanks, Logan!

Light is on the list of things to check for its pretty easy coral to maintain with correct cal alk and mag then lighting it can get use to, but with everything in order and acclamation to your system it could be ok.

It’ll probably live under your lighting, but I don’t think it will thrive. It’s a pretty underpowered light, and while birdsnest are pretty as far as SPS go, but they still require SPS level lighting. As I said, it will likely survive, but you may want to look into upgrading your light. It’s going to limit a lot of your coral choices, and as you advance in the hobby you’ll probably want to keep some of those species, and that is to say nothing about the coloration of your corals (you’re not going to get great coloration from your LPS and SPS with your light, the spectrum (and intensity) is pretty lackluster).
