Has anyone had any experience with this in a reef tank ? I'm considering one for my DT.

I had one for 6 months. It died without any warning signs. They say it requires very good water quality and usually they don't last long.
Before take it home examine it very carefully looking for bugs attached the star skin.
Good luck.

I have a lot of blue sponge growing in my tank, I put a blue linckia in the tank. It lasted for about eight months after all the blue sponge was gone/ consumed by the starfish. I was able to keep it for about two years. My reef is about 15 years old. 190 DAS aquarium.

I've had mine about 1 1/2 years. He survived my tank move 4 months ago. Absolutely beautiful creature but famous for not surviving in captivity. I probably shouldn't have gotten him but saw him at my LFS and couldn't help myself. :p

Thanks for all replies. Ill think on it.LFS just got one in. Ill give it a long look tomorrow

Blue ones are the hardest to keep! red/orange are the easier ones from what I understand... and you also need a pretty big tank too keep up with its eating habits
