so recently my fish got ick and I put them into a QT. It’s been about 2 weeks since I put them in there. Today I noticed my fish was on its side on the bottom of the tank. I took him out and looked and he looks rough. The fish are in a 25 gal QT so it’s 100 gal downgrade. Is he just stressed or still got Ick. Here’s some pictures.

The pictures wouldn’t upload on the website so I have to upload them on Imgur.

What have you done so far for treatment besides moving to the QT? It doesn't look like ich to me either. Hard to tell from pictures but looks bacterial to me, possibly flukes. Someone will know :) Be sure to aerate the QT as much as you possibly can as well in the meantime. Pretty fish, hope it makes it. I love those.

Are the spots on the fish where they "white spots" were at?

I suspect possible flukes or a secondary bacterial infection.
The white spots were mostly on the fins. A few spots where in that area but not too many.

What’s the best way to aerate my QT? I have a hang on filter on the back. I have 8 other fish inside and they seem to be fine so not sure what the issue is with this fish.

Treatment wise I’ve been adding some stuff my LFS gave me. I’m going to go back up there Tuesday to see exactly what it is but they just gave me enough to treat it instead of selling me an entire bottle that I wasn’t going to use all of it.

If it is bacteria how do I cure it?

Get a power head in there and point it to the surface and/or add air stones. A HOB with 8 fish in a small tank isn't enough. If it's flukes, they are also in the gills so the fish is already hobbled on ability to breath.

I'm more concerned on what the LFS gave you. Chloroquine Phosphate is somewhat of a "one and done" as long as redosed with water changes but copper would need to be monitored as well. The ich, if that's what it was, is also likely still there.

For that blue tang though, I'd start with a FW dip to verify or rule out flukes first.

But you'll also still need to treat for the ich most likely :( If it's a secondary bacterial issue then Metroplex, kanaplex, and Furan-2 or NFG, but I have NO clue which you should treat for first other than ruling out flukes. That's always my own issue. Treat for ich and suppress immune system so bacterial pops up, or treat for an infection and ich or velvet pops up.

Thanks for the info. What I’m using is a one and done type of thing. I add 1 drop per 5 gallons. I noticed there was what appears to be small little white spots I believe still on the fish but I can’t tell and you can’t see it in the picture. With the FW drip do I add my fish into the water even through they aren’t FW?
