I know there are varying opinions as to whether there are legitimate benefits to many of the various bacteria formulations in the marketplace targeted towards reef tanks. I’m willing to give some of them a shot if I believe I’m not artificially manipulating my reef and if I think it will help with my regular maintenance routine.

I’ve been using Dr. Tim’s Waste Away but inadvertently purchased the freshwater formula instead of the reef tank formula - can I safely use it in my reef anyway?? I’ve read other posts where people have said it’s all the same bacteria but I don’t know if that true, I’m not a scientist . Please give me your comments and advice - thanks!!

It should work, there are some differences in bacteria but more similarities. That said can’t be 100% without knowing for sure what strains are in the freshwater bottle.
