Hi I joined this forum not too long ago and I have a male Whitley's boxfish. I have him for 2 weeks and is eating mysis (2x a day) he gets 1 cube a day I split it in half and he gets a medium size sheet of nori. I also have been feeding a small piece of masstick once and a while. He is eating very well and doesn't have problems swimming. But after the 1st week he appeared to have gained a decent sized white spot on his left fin and then a couple of days later two more showed up. I have been observing him daily and he is still eating as well as when I got him and is not itching or rubbing up against anything. I do 25% water changes every week. (btw he is in a 45 gallon alone I am planning to upgrade to a 125 in a couple of months though) He has hiding spaces made out of rock. I want to know if this is ich, or flukes? Thank you I will add pictures

Hard to tell by the photos but you can always conduct a FWD and if opaque sesame seed pieces fall him then you have flukes.

I would recommend getting some marine Selcon. It is a good supplement soak his food in it. Should expedite the healing.

Hi everybody. The boxfish did recover from the disease and was doing great for a while until during the middle of the night jumped onto the floor. I am very disheartened by this, and may take a break from the hobby to recover from this loss. Thank you for helping! in the future I may come back in a while. Again thank you.
