Brain coral -- bleached?

I purchased this brain coral with slight damage. It had been laid on its wrong side during shipping/placement and parts had decayed. I got it for a discount and tried it at the bottom of my tank for a month, didn't seem to improve. So I moved it to the top. When I did a water change a few weeks ago, I noticed that when I used my turkey baster to clean gravel off my live rock, it blew away all the coloring. Could it be bleached or something else? I have it at the bottom of my tank currently.

Unfortunately looks like a goner. I don't see any flesh left....sorry.
 
That's what I was afraid of. I have a little bit that glows so I'm going to leave it and see if I can't nurture it back. Got nothing to lose.
