Question, would the bristle fall off a fish that might have rub against one?

I recently added a YWG and Pistol and it appear they went into the Kraken den forcing them to retreat onto the Firefish "safe place". He was out of his cave last night and I thought it was because of a crab that goes and block the entrance but something more sinister happened. He got a bunch of bristle on his right side that can be seen when the light reflects on them, some can be seen on the pictures below.

Would they fall off or can he get an infection?

Hello,

Hard for me to see ex what is going on, but I would just keep an eye on him. Watch for any white cottony looking patches or other discoloring on the sides. Should be fine

Thanks, I will keep an eye out on him. He ate twice today which is good but reminds me of those dogs vs porcupine pictures. I will look into a home made bristle worm trap. There are to many in the small tank.
