Hi all, had these things quite a while and they just won't seem to go away, any idea what they are? and should I dip to remove them? you can hardly see them in the picture, but they're starting to bother the coral so I figured it might be time to do something?

threw on the orange filter and zoomed in best I could... also the last picture, the thing on the glass is that one? or just a baby snail?

looking at red flatworms, they're not that red, also they're literally only on the elegance...

really hard to see in pics, flatties can range from brown to orange ,try pics not in full image see if that helps

i'm sorry i am trying, can you repost 1st pic in the format as last ones?

best i can tell flatworms?? @KJ any thoughts, thanks,

those are flatworms... you need to dip ALL corals you can remove in flatworm exit. they are not just on elegance, they are gonna be everywhere. you will also need to treat the entire tank. you didn't dip something when you added it to tank unfortunately.

you can see the v shaped tail almost dead center in pic on post #8

The flatworms might not be coral eaters at all, so I would refrain from dipping everything. But like R20Crazy said, they will multiply quickly. I would dip the elegance in coral dip and bast them off gently. They should all die and there will be less flatworms I the tank as a result. If you see them on the elegance again and no other corals after the dip, I would dip the elegance again Bc they are probably bad for the coral. Just my 0.02.

TBH, I don’t know which specific type of wrasse would eat them. If you have time you could do a little research or hopefully someone else will chime in. The biggest issue with six lines is that you can’t have any other wrasses in the tank if you have one.

For those of you wanting an update, if any lol I dipped with Seachem's coral dip, roughly 1 cap for a half gallon of water for about 10 minutes. CRAZY results. I basted with the dip water and probably close to 200 flatworms came off. I then "rinsed" with tank water for another 5 minutes, continuing to baste. Then returned it to the tank where my wrasse (which I had previously) started picking at the base of the coral? maybe more that I hadn't seen? Either way, will the iodine from the dip hurt the fish?

watch your other corals and always dip anything.... even if from someone you know... said there would be a lot... wrasse will be fine. if you see more elsewhere you will need to treat tank with flatworm exit.

Just found this thread. I think I’m going to dip my elegance coral. Here are photos. Which dip should I use I have two.

Koran MD by Brightwell, active ingredients “proprietary essential natural plant oils, and proprietary cleaners”

Coral induction bath DipX by Red Sea, doesn’t say ingredients but says: Contains: 1.5% herbal extracts (includes Thyme and Clove)
