Brown Stringy Slime

What did you do to get rid of yours?
Mine was mostly on my one rock structure that started as dry rock. (Never any on my other rock structure that was already live rock).

I just did lots of manual removal including pulling out rocks to scrub in separate container of salt water every week or a couple times per week. (Also paper towels to swipe off what I could from the glass and cords).

Took me maybe 1-2 months but all clear for a few months now.
*also started dosing Trisodium Phosphate to maintain detectable levels

good news and bad news...
ive been dosing 5ml of microbacter 7 every day and it looks like the brown slime is completely gone. now i have what looks like some sort of dust covering all my rocks, and all of my corals are closed. fish and inverts are fine

what's the play here? water changes?
