Rearranging the tank today and he finally decided to come out.
Took a look at him and he has a bump closer to his tail. Don't recall seeing that about a month ago.

Could it be from digging so much and scratching it on a rock or could it be something else?
The other fish don't seem to bother him, did have a trigger that tried to stay in his cave for a few days but that's about.

Attached pictures.

Thanks

I have not seen anything like that, either. It looks like a growth underneath the "skin". A cyst of sorts.

@Humblefish

Perfectly round like that suggests a cyst like the guys said. It doesn't look like there's any swelling or redness around it so I would just watch it. Could even be a tumor?

Thank you all for the responses.
Is it safe to put him back in then? Rather keep him in the display tank to reduce stress and allow him back in his cave or is it risky that it can spread?

Thanks

Nodular diseases like cysts are usually spherical, smooth and bulbous, like your fish. It could be a tumor, but they are often less spherical and often "warty" looking. The bad news is that if it is a cyst, they contain thousand of spores which can be released into the water if it bursts instead of being absorbed by the body.

Would be best to isolate the fish in a hospital tank and observe the growth's progression.
