Thinking about setting up a Calcium reactor.
Anyone know of a place to get and fill up a C02 tank in Phoenix?

I used to get mine filled at any of the liquor stores that sell kegs of beer. You just need to make sure your tank date stamp is current(within 5 years)

Vern Lewis Welding Supply in Avondale. I'm not sure what they charge to purchase the cylinder but they do sell them.

Last I went, i paid $12 for a 1 for 1 swap of a 10lb bottle. If you have a nice anodized bottle that you want refilled they will do it while you wait. Refills and swaps are the same price.

Reliant, airgas, and dicarbonics sell c02 as well as Vern Lewis (thanks limonpot)

I use Canyon Fire Extinguisher on 35th and Jnfuan School. They do refills for $20/10 lbs and $30/20 lbs. Jimmy, your refill rate is terrific.

Where the Heck is that?

I bought a bottle at Vern Lewis. It was allot more expensive than a bottle online. If I did it over again I would get the bottle online and have them fill it.
That's good to know, last time I went there, my wife smacked me on the back of the head and asked why I didn't get a backup bottle.

Now I can go smack her on the back of the head and explain why!

Sorry, fat finger. Indian School

I sort of just went through this myself. My 10# bottle is nearly a year past its 5 year stamp, but a liquor store in Tempe seems not to care, and fills it for $15. However, a welding shop told me I can get the tank re-cerfied at Thunderbird Cylinder.
Meanwhile, I'm thinking I'll get a new 20# bottle, and get the 10# re-certified once that's in place. Anyone know of the local prices on 20# aluminum bottles? This is best I've found online so far: https://beveragelements.com/beverag...o2-cylinders/20-lb-co2-cylinder-aluminum-new/

That’s the good thing about just swapping out at a welding shop, you never have to worry about the recertification process.

But then I don't get a nice, pretty bottle with a handle! :)

Yep I had one very similar to that, with the handle, but the inspection was out dated, so they just swapped it with one that was current and only charged me the refill fee. I asked if I could remove the handle but they pointed out that it wouldn't fit on the new one.
