calcium media question

I've have had my reactor offline for about 3 months with media in it...can I rinse the media and use it or should I throw it away and buy new?

if media was dry i would think you can rinse it off and be good to go...if sitting in tank water the whole time i would rinse it off and maybe cook it like dead rock or just buy new media
