I have not seen this question posted, so here goes...

I have an Apex DOS and I initially calculated that I need 60ml of BRS two part every day. I tell the Apex amount and it figures out to dose 119 doses per day at 0.5 ml per dose every 12 minutes. So far so good.

Of course, as conditions in my tank change, the dosing requirements change in response. Is there a calculator that takes system volume, current dosing regime and daily (or weekly) changes in Alk/Ca/etc. and recommends a change in the daily dosing amount?

TIA,
John

Your uptake is dependant on your ecosystem
If you change the ecosystem then you will have to calculate the new drop in the big 3
It's a balancing game between test kits and dosers

Unfortunately a calculator like this would never work, it'll differ from tank to tank based on quite a few factors. Some pieces can have growth spurts and cause a temporary rise in consumption, some pieces may go dormant and not require as much, if coralline algae stops growing or picks up your consumption rate will change etc.. This is just the surface of it, only you can determine what's needed for your system.

I find myself "tweaking" the daily dosages +/- 5ml/day every few days to try and zero in on constant levels. I was just wondering if there is a more scientific approach.

Nope. :)
