Well I have Finally gotten my canopy,I have tried several kinds of lighting setups for my 125 gallon and have decieded to go with 4 t12 vho 2 blue and 2 white.but I was told to paint the inside of my canopy white. What kind of paint should I use and how long does it have to stay off my tank before it is safe to put back on?
Thanks

I painted mine with Kilz white primer. It is supposed to be excellent at moisture protection. I left it off for about 24 hours and put it back on, with no problems.
I would say that you could get away with a little less time than that.

2 coats kilz primer then a high gloss white paint. primer dries pretty fast.wrap brush or roller with cellophane and put in frig between coats of primer to save on clean up time.

I also have used Kiltz. Be sure to use the oil based Kiltz primer. Water and oil don't mix. Water and acrylic do.
