hi i have a carpet nem bought for me as a birthday present my sand bed is only 2 inches deep i can not take it back as it was bought of line bye my brother all my parameters are good have 6 x 54 watt tubes running witch are all geisman tubes i am hoping its going to be ok

Are you asking a question or just making a statement? Punctuation would help out a bit. Either way good luck with the nem. There is a lot of info on this forum about them.

Do you know what species of "carpet" ? Or, better yet, can you post a picture of it? There are 3 hosting anemones that are called "carpets", and they each have different care requirements. (( there is even one that isn't a hosting anemone, and could very well eat your clowns/fish )).

What size tank?
What are your current parameters, with numbers please
How long has your tank been set up?

tank size 4ft x 20 x 20
been running 9 months ph 8.1 kh 8.0 cal 434 mag 1435 no3 0.00 po4 0.01 temp 26 .5
as far as he told it was hanndons

A deeper sand bed would be best for haddoni, but it might be ok.
Post pics for ID, the other carpets are rock dwellars, haddoni are sand bed dwellars, 3-4" minimum is ideal

heres some pics of the carpet its under 6 t5 54 watts does it look ok its latched on to bottom of rock and tank base should it be expanding more not fed it yet as it only whent in on monday

Yea its a haddoni and it is the easier too keep of all carpets, but no carpet is for beginners.. What lighting fixture do you have? You have enough lighting if it is a good t-5 fixture and not cheap and the anemone is below it.. Sure your tank is not 18" wide? 75 gallon.. 20 inches means it might be custom... For 20" wide tank I recommend 8 lamps but you can make 6 work...

A litte deeper sand bed would be nice but you might be ok... It is beautiful anemone, mouth looks a little open but otherwise it looks pretty healthy.. It might sill be stressed from the move though..

Haddoni even though it is rare can eat fish in your tank..

Keep an eye on that mouth, would prefer it to be tightly closed. Might have to treat it.

IME, it is a matter of when and not if, for an S. haddoni eating a fish.

what best to treat it was told it was a saddle back

Not sure about its availability in the UK, but Ciprofloxacin is used here in the states. A quick google search of that term will provide some links.

"Saddleback" is one of the common names for S. haddoni -- due to saddleback clowns (( A. polymnus )) being naturally associated with it.

Looks like it's doing ok, attached is good.
Mouth open is kind of typical, it's adjusting to new params and a little stressed.
Cipro is typically a treatment we would do before introducing to display, I would only look into that if it looks like it's health is failing, otherwise leave it be for now and let it settle.
Mysis would be a good start for any spot feeding, but I'd give it at least another week before even worrying about that.
