Hey guys. Question for ya....Does anyone know of a fish or invert that could control chaeto and not be too large for a 14g nano? This stuff came in on some rocks and is out of control!!!:squigglemouth:

Thanks.

not much will eat cheato, but I doubt it is chaeto is it came in on rocks, its probly briopsis, which is also brisley and tough like chaeto. Not much will get rid of it. chaeto usually doesnt attach to anything, it just balls up.

Thanks for the downer Brian. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to boil my rocks to get rid of it they have some nice corraline algae on them.

Bryan is probably correct - and briopsis (sp) is worse than hair algae - I am not even sure if boiling it will kill it off. If it is in clumps on the rock I would get a small flat head screwdriver and chip the surface of the rock off where it connects. Get rid of it as soon as possible.

good luck

If its briopsis, then a lettuce nudi, will eat every last bit of it. See if you can have someone confirm what type of algae it is.

I'll post a pic and let you guys have a look. In the meantime I'll google it and see if I can find any pictures.
