I am going to be visiting the Chatanooga area in a couple weeks to visit friends and would like to check out some of the LFS. What are some must see stores in the area? If you could post an address, phone number and if they have it website that would be awesome. Also plan to check out the TN aquarium while I'm there.

Bermuda triangle is about the only LFS if you are looking for coral or fish. there are a couple others but they have minimal coral and fish. Bermuda triangle is on East Brainerd Rd. not sure of the exact address, but they are in the phone book, or yellowpages.com

Petcare wharehouse in hixson, and fish mania in east ridge. watch fish closely before buying at these stores.

I'll re-iterate watch VERY carefully before buying fish at either of those two. None of the fish at fish mania I've seen ever look happy, but they usually seem ok healthwise (very limited on tank space)... they have a pretty decent coral tank now though. As for the hixson store, just stay away, I've seen dead fish in the tanks there and many of them with cyano covered sandbeds about everytime I go by there for my dog, unless something has changed since the last time I was there a month ago :P

I haven't had problems with fish from Fish Mania, but selection is limited and he sticks to the basic supply type fish and less expensive things. Bermuda has the more expensive fish and bigger variety. They have more corals though they don't have a lot of SPS (though they do have some).

Not sure if the couple of weeks you refer to have come and gone, but just in case.

Petcare bought 5th days old tanks. I talked to them the other day, and they are getting a whole bunch of stuff. Supposed to be ready May 12th with their 'revamped' salt water section. Agreed on being cautious what you buy from there, but they may finally get a set up decent enough to support the livestock they sell.
I've been happy with Fish Mania. Some of their fish look rough, but then again I wouldn't look so good being shipped across the country in a box. The fish they've had there a while always looked good to me. They've got some decent coral selection.
I can't speak on Bermuda, as the only business I've given them was some snails. I stay away from there because of the location, too far for me, and I hate Gunbarrel traffic.

I was in town last weekend, May 1-2 and was able to visit Bermuda Triangle. The store was very nice, awesome selection of fish and corals. I just wish that I didnt have over 2 dyas before I was going to be back home or I would have probably purchased some.

Yeah the Bermuda Triangle has some nice fish and has some pretty decent coral. They don't have any really big collector pieces, but I think they might be starting to move that way. Jon is a good guy though and he treates you well when you come in there.
